Our fresh fruit salad has a light citrus and vanilla sauce that makes it a perfect ending to any meal or an ideal snack when you’re craving something sweet.

The Backstory: This refreshing, light, and juicy fresh fruit salad is the quintessential fruit salad you’ve been looking for. Let’s start with how gorgeous it is on a holiday table or buffet! This salad is a truly a feast for the eyes with its rainbow of beautiful, natural colors. Pile the fruit in a large glass trifle bowl for a wow presentation or individual glass serving bowls (as shown here). Fresh Fruit Salad - Healthy Option

Naturally sweet ripe fruit and a light dressing of juice and vanilla extract combine to make the perfect fruit salad you've been looking for. This dish is perfect for a holiday buffet, summer party, or to keep in your fridge to enjoy all week long.

Total Time 20 minutes
Servings 8 servings

Ingredients

  • 2 cups red apples, with skin, core removed, chopped
  • 1 1/4 cups seedless green grapes
  • 1 1/4 cups seedless red grapes
  • 2 cups cantaloupe balls or chunks
  • 2 cups honeydew balls or chunks
  • 1 1/4 cups nectarines, raw, chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups pineapple, raw, chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups strawberries, raw, halved
  • 2 tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp. orange juice
  • 1/2 tbsp. vanilla (clear) or almond extract

Instructions

  1. Toss all the fruit together and set aside.
  2. In separate bowl, mix together sugar, lemon juice, orange juice and extract.
  3. Pour the liquid mixture with fruit and toss.
