Spinach Cheese Bake
Spinach cheese bake is a decadent, creamy dip that’s a perfect party appetizer with crackers or pita wedges.
The Backstory: I am a cheese lover. Now pair this with spinach, mushrooms and onions, and this becomes another favorite comfort food for me. A friend of mine gave me this spinach cheese bake recipe and I have made it several times over the years.(I don’t recall which friend gave this to me). It can also be served as a main course, just add a salad and a drink. It is easy to make with very few ingredients. Spinach Cheese Bake
Ingredients
- 2 medium onions, diced I use sweet onions
- 1/2 lb. fresh mushrooms, sliced
- 1/2 cup butter
- 4 10 oz. package of frozen spinach
- 1 8 oz. package of shredded Cheddar cheese or any cheese of your choice
- ground nutmeg to taste or fresh nutmeg to taste
Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large skillet saute the onions, untll translucent. Add the mushrooms and cook for about 2 minutes. Set aside.

Cook the spinach according to package directions. Drain well. Add the spinach to the onion and mushroom mixture. Add the nutmeg. Mix.

Pour into a 9 x 13 baking dish, top with the cheese. Bake for 20-30 minutes. Remove and serve hot.
