Banana Walnut Bread - Healthy Option

Naturally sweet bananas and rich nutty walnuts add layers of flavor to this delicious bread. Enjoy it with a cup of coffee or tea or anytime you feel like a little something indulgent.   • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 large ripe bananas, 10 oz. each
  • 1 whole egg, large
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp. canola oil
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose white flour
  • 3/4 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/3 cup shelled, chopped walnuts


  1. Mix together first five ingredients. Beat on low speed until just combined.
  2. Add in remaining ingredients and mix for about 1 minute until blended through. Do not over mix.
  3. Place batter in a non-stick 8 x 4 loaf pan.
  4. Bake at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes until cooked through.
